Hi there!!

Welcome to my Cuba Blog! My name is Flavia and I’ll be using my words and tremendous passion for traveling to inspire others to discover the wonders Cuba has to offer. I was born in the countryside of Cuba and moved to Havana when I was 6 years old. I lived in  there until 2009 when my parents moved my brother and I 90 miles north to the sunshine state – Florida. Adapting to a whole new language and culture was extremely challenging and still is. Leaving friends and family behind is not the easiest thing to do and takes time and effort to move past the tears and start a new life. I love America, I love my life here and the many opportunities I’ve had. There is nothing like having freedom run through your body and proudly call yourself an American;  but I will never forget where I came from. I take Cuba with me, every single day, every minute, everywhere I go. There is nothing I love more than talking to people about my country and culture. Recommending where to go, what to eat or what to see to people who are planning on visiting is my drug. Cuba is a small country filled with kind, humble, loving people. It’s a step back in time where technology has not taken over yet. It’s a country where perseverance and dreams make people do the impossible. A country so full of natural beauty that every street, every corner, every building is worth photographing. I want to take you in the adventure of your life. From the crowded streets of Havana to the calm country side of Santiago; come explore this magnificent island alongside me.

I am not the same, having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world. — Gustave Flaubert
